Within the last week the Coots have returned and that means much cooler weather is on the way. Last year before they left in the Spring it was not uncommon to see Coots in large numbers feeding several times a day along with the Mallards on our duck corn. Be sure to check our Cam Cams...chances are good you will see them more often than not from now to mid April. Last year our waterfowl (Coots & Mallards) would easily consume a 50 pound bag of corn a week.
Our recent storms and windy conditions have taken a toll on our ferns...blowing two so hard it ripped the basket wires and even sent one flying down hard onto the great wall. Our ferns generally hang around until our first hard freeze and have lasted some years well into December.
